Is Apple planning to launch a new product? Yes, of course. They always are. But are they planning to launch a new product later this month? Most likely; they do have a history of launching products in January just after CES so as to make all the other tech companies look slow. So we buy AppleInsider's report that Apple's store employees are being told not to take vacations during the last week of January and the first two weeks of February. But what product or products will be keeping those poor employees away from their loved ones? The media guessing-game is exactly what Steve Jobs loves.

And we'll admit it, we find the guessing games a little fun too. So! The most obvious launch would be the long-rumored Verizon iPhone (the unicorn of smartphones), which would make a lot of people we know very happy. But just as likely is a follow-up to the hotcake-out-selling iPad (presumably faster, lighter and with a camera to allow "FaceTime"). It has been a year since the first one was announced, after all. Or it could just be a new set of old-fashioned computers and laptops. Or, well, it could be something else entirely. Guesses? Hopes? Dreams? Put 'em in the comments.
