The New York City area could see its first fully dry weekend in more than a month, according to the National Weather Service.
The pleasant forecast, with mild temperatures and plenty of sunshine, comes after four straight weekends of unsettled weather that brought scattered showers, tornadoes, thunderstorms and even wildfire smoke to the region.
National Weather Service meteorologist Bryan Ramsey said high pressure centered over the city will drift to the Northeast over the weekend. Some clouds could move in, but conditions are expected to remain dry, with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s, he said.

Summer Streets returns to Queens and Staten Island
What better way to enjoy pleasant weather than taking over streets normally filled with cars?
The city's Summer Streets program begins this weekend with routes in Queens and on Staten Island from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. The remaining boroughs will host Summer Streets on subsequent weekends.
Celebrate City of Water Day
Hosted in partnership with the Waterfront Alliance, City of Water Day takes place Saturday with events at waterfront parks across the city. Activities include a beach cleanup at Kaiser Park in Brooklyn, a salt marsh exploration at Inwood Hill Park in Manhattan and a guided walk through Soundview Park in the Bronx.
Catch live music at MoMA PS1
MoMA PS1's "Warm Up" concert series returns Friday for its 28th season and continues over the next five Fridays.
According to the museum, the series invites "underground and emerging talents from around the world to our courtyard in Queens.”
