A sad update to the tragic story of the deaf 5-year-old who was struck by a taxi cab in Cobble Hill on Saturday: The Daily News' sources say that Timothy Keith is brain dead.
The boy and his parents, who are also deaf, were visiting NYC from D.C. They and a friend were going to see the Brooklyn Bridge when Timothy darted between parked cars onto Hicks Street near Amity in Cobble Hill, and a yellow SUV cab hit him.
The driver stayed at the scene, telling the Post, "There was no time. He stepped out and I hit the brake."
