Two New Yorkers died overnight after being found with major injuries hours apart in the Bronx and Brooklyn, police said.
A 23-year old woman died after being found across the street from a playground in the Bronx with a gunshot wound to her left eye.
Police said officers responded to calls shortly after midnight at 2158 Aqueduct Avenue in the West Bronx.
Emergency responders rushed the woman, who police identified as Bronx resident Reyna Caceres, to the Saint Barnabas Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The incident occurred about two hours after police said they found a 34-year-old man in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Canarsie with a stab wound to the chest.
The man, who police identified as Isaiah Freeman of Brooklyn, was also pronounced dead after being transported to a local hospital.
Police said no arrests have been made in either case, and investigations are ongoing.
