Staten Island's Vanessa Riccio has been charged with theft of services after she and a friend racked up a $170 bill at the New Dorp Applebee's and fled without paying, which is all the rage these days. This raises the larger question: how the hell did two people spend $170 on lunch at Applebee's? The Staten Island Advance says they ate ribs ($22.99 for a full rack), shrimp ($13.49 for the "Double Crunch"), and booze, which they must have ordered a lot of considering their entrees don't even equal $50. Of course, money is no object when the alternative is dining at Applebee's sober.
