Jeff Magnum, reclusive singer of Neutral Milk Hotel, made a rare live appearance Thursday night at the Chris Knox Benefit show, and played five NMH classics.
The Rock Shop, a new venue (and sports bar) run by some current and former Bowery Ballroom people, is opening up in Park Slope on 4th Avenue, where Cattyshack used to be.
The National, whose new album High Violet is being released next week, announced a surprise show at BAM May 15. Pre-sale tickets already sold out today, but more tickets are supposedly scheduled to be released during the week.
