  • The Rock Shop, a new venue (and sports bar) run by some current and former Bowery Ballroom people, is opening up in Park Slope on 4th Avenue, where Cattyshack used to be.
  • The National, whose new album High Violet is being released next week, announced a surprise show at BAM May 15. Pre-sale tickets already sold out today, but more tickets are supposedly scheduled to be released during the week.
