Perhaps taking a cue from Lil Wayne, Lillo Brancato Jr.—an actor who you might remember from such works as The Sopranos, A Bronx Tale and that time he and a friend broke into a Bronx house and killed an off-duty police officer in a robbery gone very wrong—has started to #tweetfromjail. Twitter is so hot right now, Twitter.
Brancato, who was found guilty of burglary, isn't actually doing the physical tweeting on @LilloBrancato (that job goes to "nightlife impresario" Noel Ashman and his assistant) but he is, he tells the News, dictating his tweets on a regular basis. Because how else would we know that Brancato was a fan of marriage equality and was mourning the deaths of both Sherwood Schwartz and Leibby Kletzky?
Brancato says the sparsely followed feed is there to make clear how dull the "daily grind" of prison life is. But as there are few tweets about prison life it seems the feed is also a good way to brag about the famous people he's been locked up at Oneida Correctional Facility with. Like Ja Rule ("seems like a real gentleman") and Plaxico Burress. Do humblebrags count if you are in prison?
