We're still a few months away from finding out the fates of our favorite (potentially) still-breathing Westerosi, with HBO dangling a cruel April premiere date for the fifth season of Game Of Thrones. But though many moons and polar vortexes stand between us and Tyrion's fate, the old gods have blessed us with a special gift—HBO will screen Game Of Thrones episodes and the new season's trailer in IMAX this month. Put down that crossbow and breathe deep, friends, for a beautiful fantasy world scantily-clad Daenerys Targaryen will soon fill your eyeballs.
HBO will unleash Big Screen GoT upon 150 IMAX theaters across the country, screening the last two episodes of Season 4 along with a special Season 5 trailer. The IMAX repertoire includes The Watchers On The Wall, which, while one of the weakest of this last batch in this blogger's opinion, will be a dazzling show to behold in large format. And of course, the season finale will bring all the big, big screen feels, what with ****SPOILER ALERT*** the battle between Brienne of Tarth and the Hound, the Jaime/Cersei sexy time, and the final Father/Son Lannister showdown.
Sadly, GoT will only be available in theaters from January 23rd to January 29th, after which we will have nothing but the promise of the 12 houses' wines to sate us until the arrival of the new season. Ah well, at least Spring is Coming (SORRY!!!!)
